ACC(Ignition) on and Off problem

Postby kklam » Tue Aug 12, 2008 10:49 am

Hi,

I'd just received my microSDC and tested it. My question is :

My countdown time(t2) is 5s & ignition connected to ACC. When I turn ignition on, PC starts booting up. If I turn ignition off in a rather short time (say 10s), after t2(5s here) expire, PC is still booting up. After t3(90s), the microSDC will cut power down s.t. the OS cannot have a graceful shutdown in this situation.

I guess the PC is ignoring the pulse while it's still booting up. Any clue to this ? I'd already connected a 5V to E+ and found that in off & on situation, the restart (t3) can be shortened (but no help to on & off).

We are having a carPC project ( >100 vehicles) & dragged too long on testing the M2-ATX & M3-ATX. These 2 are having different problems. We'd appreciate much if u could get us replied asap.

B. Rgds,
KK.

The uSDC typically sends a pulse after the T2 timer expires if it sees that the "on-sense" is high or not connected. If it hits the button and the PC doesn't respond, it reacts by pulling the plug after the 90 seconds t3 elapses..

Have you tested this manually? Would you want the uSDC to just ignore the shutdown pulse if it happens so quickly and revert to only shutting down if the battery voltage is low? Alternatively, would a longer button press at the end of T2 be better?

If you are going to order a handful of units 10+, we can modify the code for you to hard code whatever settings you want..
